The Riley Family has had the bank for three generations and has chosen to remain a family owned bank for the citizens of Ohio County.
Percy Lewis is the Chief Executive Officer.
The bank offers checking, savings, and loans as do most banks but what makes this bank special is the willingness to keep the friendly small town attitude and knowing their customers on a first name basis.
All the tellers are neighbors and live in Ohio County. As the old saying goes “Everybody knows Everybody.”
Despite the recession of the past there is a helping positive atmosphere in the bank and a friend can be found in all the employees at the bank.
The bookkeeping department is always friendly and shows a willingness to assist the customers when ever their is a question about the account.
Tom and Theresa Morris are considering taking their experience and love of writing and sharing the community with the owners of the Citizens Bank in Hartford, Kentucky.
Theresa feels that she has the time to offer to creating more known information to be found in a Citizens Community Weekly Newspaper since many people still are not using the Internet in the small towns of Ohio County which is a rural setting perfect for retirement.
Theresa explained that the Baby Boomers that are known to have been born 1946-1964 will begin retirement in 2011 at the age of 65 years.
Theresa has shown that she can keep up weekly updates and a monthly newsletter with 8 years experience covering public interests, and politics with events and stories of interest in the happenings of Ohio County.
Theresa has been covering special interests organizations for others in the national news and the Global Community and believes it is time to create more interests in the local citizens and economy for the Ohio County Community.
Thomas R. Morris, the artist/Author has been dealing with Citizens Bank on his personal checking and loans since 2000 when he moved back to Ohio County after leaving to pursue his military career.
Thomas who everyone knows as Tom was married to Theresa J Thurmond in March, 2000 and they both are known artists/authors.
Tom and Theresa met in Dallas, Texas while both chose to see the United States while serving as commercial truck drivers after both leaving the military in 1993.
Tom and Theresa had common interests as artists and writers.
Tom now Theresa were writers from 2000 to 2005 for the Ohio County Messenger weekly newspaper in Beaver Dam,
Tom and Theresa are now talking about opening up a weekly newspaper again since there is only one newspaper in Hartford. Tom and Theresa would concentrate on the Citizens offering broader categories with journalism and investigative reporting in mind.
The categories being considered are Lifestyle & Fashion, Business,
Entertainment & Events, Tourism, Health & Fitness, Science & Medicine, Culture & Traditions, Classified Ads,
Philosophy & Spirituality, while the issues would be Global, government, Welfare, Military & Security, Economy, Education, Environment, Sustainability, Politics, state, and federal issues.
Theresa has had American News Magazine and her personal website as TJ Morris ACIR publishing since 2002 with an 8 year consecutive history with American News Magazine and some may remember the monthly Magazine in Ohio County that tom and she began called Americana Magazine.
The monthly magazine and weekly newspaper would more than likely be contracted out for the first year or two until the equipment could be purchased. The business overhead for the newspaper and magazine would be a community service and is now being considered.
